I picked up Mysql again after some years and had a nightmarish upgrade experience. I had to stomp out Mysql on disk and registry, and was able to get a clean new install. BUT, it would not install Workbench. I found the old direct install for 5.2.47, which got me back close to where I had started.
Now the installer wants to upgrade, but barfs. 1: Download of package 'MySQL Workbench 6.3.8' failed with message No valid download found for product MySQL Workbench 6.3.8. Could it be because the installer says the product home is
https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/tools/ ?
